Prepping for Nordstrom Anni Sale
As the temperatures raise and summer begins, we inch closer to Christmas in July a la Nordstrom Anniversary sale.
This year will be my 3rd Anni Sale as a cardholder and 1st as “influencer”. As a seasoned Nordstrom Annivesary shopper, I am ready to impart the wisdom I’ve gained.
Rule One: Remember Quality over Quantity
There will be no shortage of items, so you need to make (and stick to a plan). As the preview is released, you will need to review what is available versus what you are looking to add to your wardrobe. Do you want to invest in cashmere sweaters for transitional work and play items? Go head girl, Nordstrom got you. Are you looking for a show stopper bootie to rock day to night when temps are chilly? Anni sale will not disappoint. There will be so many items that pique your interest, but remember to be intentional and realistic. If you live in TX, you probably don’t need more than a few sweaters or jackets to carry you to next year unless you have winter destination on the agenda.
Rule Two: Focus on Beauty
Beauty items are some of my favorite of the Anniversary sale, as I stock up on consumption items I already use in my daily life. For several years now, I’ve gotten massive sets for face cleanser + moisturizer (Tula), lipstick sets (Charlotte Tillbury), and perfume. Typically, these are the best price per ounce than any other time of the year, so I know that I am getting the best deal for something I would use regardess.
Rule Three: Brainstorm Gifts
Each year, I review those who I purchased for during the previous Christmas to assess if there might be a gifting opportunity. Usually, I can knock out several ladies (Barefoot Dreams Blankets or Nest Candles), men (Travis Matthew or Vineyard Vines polos), or kids (Northface Jackets) on my list. Buying during the Anniversary Sale allows me to get a nicer gift for the same price I budgetted to spend. After all, I am an accountant.
Best Anniversary Clothing I purchased from Last Year's Sale:
I opted for black and grey in the pant + tshirt sets. I wear them each weekly.
I purchased black, tan, and grey versions of the crew variety and wore frequently in winter.
Everydady Sweater- La Ligne
I fell in love with the black and white striped casual sweater and continued grabbing it.
I snagged a pair of each. The Madewell Perfect Vintage is my go-to everyday jean, while AG dark rinse became my go-to skinny jeans to pair with boot and booties.
Winters Vests from Bernardo + North Face
I added two vests to cart as they are the perfect happy medium for mild winters. I opted for one athelisure vest
Club Monaco Midi Sweater Dress
I needed a black sweater dress that was not body con. This was the perfect dress up or down dress, and I know it will remain in my closet for years.
Zella Basic Athleisure
I bought a few basic long sleeve shirts and sweat shirts from Zella for lounge looks.
Sweaty Betty Hiking Shorts
I added these after I went shop in person, and I loved them so much I bought TWO pairs. Yes, that is how much I love them. Longer length, stretchy waistband, pockets, and a more tailore fit.
I plan to share more details once the preview is released in July, and I will take you along to see what I plan to purchase.
