January 2023: In My Cart
This blog's beginnings are rooted in Reddit when I began posting Outfit of the Day (OOTD) last May. After racking up the karma, the group went on a hiatus, so I moved my posting to Discord. As my post frequency increased, so did the link requests. Many people began blindly guessing that x item was likely Loft or Ann Taylor. I can’t deny it, I am a Loft Loyalist and an Avid Ann Taylor Fan. Thus, I found it fitting to showcase my favorites for my first In My Cart Monthly Series.
I became a customer of Loft as a college student. It was at The Limited and Loft where I acquired many of my first workwear staples for interviewing, interning, and starting my career. As a young professional, I felt Loft’s style and price point was both approachable and attainable. As I progressed in my career, and became a wife and mother, I decided to allow myself to splurge on a few pair of slacks and sweaters from Ann Taylor. I fell in love with the elevated workwear, and as they say, the rest is history. Now, I buy a combination of both Loft as well as Ann Taylor items. I prefer Loft for my casual wear, while adopting Ann Taylor for my workwear. The beauty of both brands is they can easily transition from week to weekend, allowing for a myriad of combination possibilities.
Without further adieu, I present what’s in my cart.
LOFT
Soft Tee— As the matching joggers were not available in black, I plan to pair with wunderweave pant.
Joggers- I have these on my wishlist hoping they restock in black
Wunderweave— Pass as slacks, yet feel like butter. I love that these pants provide both cozy yet sophisticated look.
Lou + Grey Wide Leg Pant- Incognito sweatpants that can be dual purposed as a sweatpant
Pull Over-I shared a day date outfit inspiration featuring a striped button down (Meghan Markle Wimbledon look). However, this is 1/4 the price with an eerily similar look. Win Win
Fluid Pants- Similar in fabric and shape as my Capsule Foundation Pintucked Pants. Hopeful that I love them just as much.
White Top- love the feminine detail as a casual look that can transition to work
Rugby Tee— The collar shirt resurgence is trend that has taken me a moment to adopt. For more trendy items, I prefer a budget option. I opted for this rugby tee for the neutral stripe, the soft collar, plus ability pair with both jeans or slacks
Stripe Tee— I am not sure if my French heritage is in my bones, but I never met a classic striped shirt I didn’t like.
Coatigan— As stores begin to roll out spring items, I found this neutral brown cardigan on sale. Easy sell.
Ann Taylor
Clover Earrings— The clover design gives luxe touch without premium pricing. My accountant heart sings.
Hoop Earrings- Transitional Hoop is the perfect day to night addition that can be worn all day and in any season.
Navy Dress- A classic navy dress with accentuated waist AND a pleated detail. I could not say no.
Sleevless Flutter- I love a classic piece with a feminine detail. The flutter detail on this sleeveless top is beyond. I look forward to wearing for day and night, and all year long because #Texas
