Meet Taylor

I wear many hats. I am a wife, I am a mom, I am a CPA, I am a business owner, I am book lover, and I am a connoisseur of both casual and workwear. As a child, I paged through the glistening catalogues of Neiman or Nordstrom gracing my grandparent’s coffee table. Years later in my teens, my mom bought me Seventeen or Vogue magazines, and I inhaled the material as if I could afford a $7k fur coat.

In college, I recall idolizing Audrey Hepburn, as if I too could look flawless while singing Moon River. Yet, I resigned that I would never have the ease of sophistication or class of the women of old. I spent years buying items that were in style at the time but had no staying power. For me, it took having a daughter and not feeling like myself in my body, to transform my thinking about my personal style. I realized that to feel comfortable in my clothes, I needed to dress specifically for my body type and simplify my wardrobe.

Through plenty of research and too many Pinterest pins, I began developing and curating my personal capsule wardrobe. First, I assessed what looks I gravitated towards on others. I created mood boards of how I wanted to look that would allow me to exude the confidence I sought. I began following influencers who also adopted capsule wardrobes to gauge which brands that they incorporated, to find what spoke to me. I surveyed my current wardrobe, and finally let go of the items that I do not wear, and likely would not in the future.

In my exploration, many capsule wardrobe influencers recommended acquiring higher price tag items that will last the test of time, but I wished to procure my capsule in a more timely, efficient manner. Thus, I began utilizing the brands that I knew and loved to find pieces that would fit in my personal capsule, without breaking the bank.

As time has passed, I have further refined my taste and wants by fine tuning my wardrobe. I have splurged, saved, and miscalculated on various pieces, but the capsule wardrobe framework remains. I hope you will stick around as I share my wardrobe and life with you.
